Upcycled Container House in Malaysia by Ken Kwok
This is not only a concept. This is real. A container house was designed by Ken Kwok on Malaysia. Using 6 shipping containers, Anand Bungalow, Sdn. Bhd. developed 2,551 sq ft project, including rainwater collector, natural ventilation, water-efficient fixtures, dual-flush toilets, and abundant natural lighting to minimize energy consumption. This is awesome.
There are 5 principles on developing this house : smart design, upcycle and recycle, smart to build, energy efficiency, water conservation. They design the house very flexible, very transportable, easy to build, and also suitable with the local climate. It can be built at any type of terrains.
The west wall was designed so it can block the direct heat. From the north wall, we can see the beautiful mountain view. The east wall was designed to maximize natural lighting. They also have a lo t of ventilation with cross setting.
