Sustainable FabLab House by IaaC
This sustainable house is made by IaaC and was participated in Solar Decathlon Europe competition, 2010. All of the design aspects are considered to be eco friendly, including all of the features provided in the house.
The house has unique form, just like a maggot from above. This form is believed can provide better energy conservation. This house uses the resources from the surroundings to create micro climate that is passively adapted to the condition of the habitat.
Made from wood materials, this house is design light, easy to handle, with very precision parts that are provided from high technology of fabrication, by using CAD/CAM and laser cutting technology. The use of this material also provides easier way to maintain and can have good aspect of providing heat protection, better than metal or concrete materials.
This house has solar panels on its roof that can provide electricity for the house. The paraboloid form of the house provides better sun light receiving from every position of the sun, in every time. This house is also completed with modern control panel that can provides real-time monitoring and creates historical profile for the user.
The round shape of the house provides larger internal volume. It is also elevated by some legs. By this condition, people can do outdoor activities outside, by the protection of the house’s body. With some choice of size, people can choose the house according to their needs. There are five types : hut, refuge, house, and villa.
