Passive House Museum by Kjellgreen Kaminsky Architecture
This is maybe the first museum built as a passive house. It is a new building for the tourist office and the city museum in Ulricehamn, created by Kjellgreen Kaminsky Architecture (KKA). The building was a railway station, located in a park next to lake Åsunden, Sweden.
Considering the famous wooden architecture and the centre of a historical textile industrial area from Ulricehamn, a facade system with weaved wooden planks is chosen to be implemented in the design. As a passive building, no heating system will be used. It will use the natural heat sources available there. Solar cells will be installed to provide energy. All of the projects has been part of the “Design med omtanke“-concept, that aims more sustainable and user friendly building.
