World’s First Sustainable Movable Apartment in Finland by NEAPO

NEAPO, a Finish architecture and construction firm that specialize its products on sustainable, safe and healthy residential buildings, created a unique and sustainable apartment building. This eco friendly building was designed mobile, can be moved easily to needed place. After construction phase, this sustainable building was moved to Turku, Finland, early of this month.

The Eco Friendly Construction of New Norris House

In 1933, as a part of Norris Dam construction project, the Tennessee Valley Authority built a community in Norris, Tennessee. By this, a series of houses were built too, with special design as models for modern and efficient living. Now, after 75 years, a Norris House is relaunched by  an interdisciplinary team of University of Tennessee students, of course with new design to adjust and update the house with 21th century condition, but without leaving the basic principle of its sustainable design and eco friendly construction. This new Norris House was designed and built by prefab technology, completed with several sustainable features.  The prefab house was made for a professor and a graduate student from the University of Tennessee. They will live there, and inform their experiences in a blog

Sustainable Design of Sommerhaus Piu, a Wooden Prefab House

A beautiful, elegant, versatile eco house building was designed by a collaboration of Germany architects, Patrick Frey and Björn Götte. It is a prefab house, with beautiful wooden structure. The house is used for a vacation house, or even a studio. This house is called Sommerhaus Piu (Piu Summer House).

The house is a project of Blue Sky Homes, a Palm Springs-based prefab builder,  located in Yucca Valley outside of Palm Springs, and will be used as an desert escape destination on winter. This is a  galvanized steel home with some sustainable building materials involved.

Green Construction of Pioneer Cabin by Form & Forest

Form & Forest, cabin designer that usually designs a lot of great, modern cabin for weekend escape, etc, designed a beautiful flat-pack cabin, called The Pioneer.  This prefab cabin has green construction.  Flat-pack cabin is claimed to be the latter form of prefab construction that may provide easier way to be sent to remote area or have under developed access roads and driveways.
